If you consider yourself even the tiniest fan of tv, music, books or movies you’ll love my time with Knox McCoy. I am an avid consumer of pop culture so I was thrilled to be speaking with Knox. He (and his co-host Jamie Golden) host TWO podcasts that use entertainment as the central theme of their shows.
Here’s a breakdown of their two podcasts:
The first podcast is called The PopCast, and it’s LOL pop culture… meaning you’re gonna fall hard for this dynamic duo and they way they educate you on entertainment because they are so funny!
Their other podcast, The Bible Binge, brings the delightful charm of the Popcast but adds on a biblical twist. It’s a retelling of our favorite and obscure bible stories as a TV show recap.
This totally makes Knox the premier person to be speaking about all things entertainment and how that informs our identity in Christ!
Knox wrote a book, The Wondering Years and it’s his take on pop culture and how it helped him answer life’s biggest questions.
This book totally rocked my world! I loved how Knox took his musings of pop culture and shared how they shaped his view of God and his identity.
Here’s a few favorite subjects we cover in our time together:
Get a glimpse of Knox’s experiences that he highlights in the book and lesson he learned of how being certain with in his relationship with God means that it’s ok to not always have all the answers.
Get ready to be peppered with the word “cliche” as I embarrassingly put Knox in the position of reassuring me that loving the enneagram and being basic is not automatically annoying. 🙂
We share our appreciation of pop culture as a learning tool for faith and theology.
I reveal my “buffet” of broad experiences of faith that has led to my questioning of truth in my identity.
